Urinetown The Musical

In this side-splitting satire, the young hero Bobby Strong leads his community in a fight against oppression. Set in a dystopian world where water is scarce and “Hope” is even scarcer, all citizens must now pay a fee for “The Privilege to Pee” at one of the public facilities controlled by the selfish tycoon, Caldwell B. Cladwell, and monitored by authorities like Officer Lockstock. But the citizens can only hold it in so much longer, and soon the poorest, filthiest of these facilities, run by the formidable Penelope Pennywise, becomes a “number one” site for major change. Equal parts irreverent and insightful, this Tony Award–winning musical is as smart as it is hilarious. Urinetown features AEA guest artists Jordan Barron as Officer Lockstock, Quincy Kuykendall as Mr. Cladwell, and faculty guest artist Anna Skidis Vargas as Penelope Pennywise alongside an outstanding cast of talented students from the St. Edward’s University Department of Performing Arts. The creative team includes Kasey RT Graham (Director), Lyn Koenning (Music Director) and Kimberly Schafer (Choreographer) with Theada Haining (Scenic Design), Kathryn Eader (Lighting Design), Avery Lynch (Sound Design), Susan Branch Towne (Costume Design), Anna Fugate-Downs (Hair and Makeup Design), Miguel De Hoyos (Props Design) and Robert Tolaro (Production Stage Manager).
