Judges/Volunteers needed for the Greater Austin Regional Science and Engineering Fair, February 21-24, 2024 The Greater Austin Regional Science and Engineering Fair is one of the largest and oldest regional science fairs in Texas. In its 68th year, it now covers 14 counties and 30 school districts as well as private, charter and home schools. Students will enter their projects in one of 18 different science categories, with the top winners in each advancing to the state fair, and the top overall projects advancing to the International Science & Engineering Fair. As a competitive fair, subject matter experts are needed to evaluate the projects in each category. Serving as a judge for the Fair offers an opportunity to engage with the community and to participate in encouraging inquiring young minds. For more information on the process, time commitments, and how to sign up, see the attached. General volunteers are also needed from Wednesday, February 21, to Saturday, Feb 24, to help with registration, project set-up, monitoring students during judging and the awards ceremonies.
