GAHCC Ribbon Cutting: Delicious Tamales

Second Austin Location GRAND OPENING for San Antonio-based DELICIOUS TAMALES!
Service Starts March 2nd in North Austin

Starting Thursday, March 2, 2023, DELICIOUS TAMALES, the largest San Antonio producer of tamales, will expand its Austin business, opening a second location at 1700 W. Parmer Lane near Metric Blvd.  And that’s great news for residents in North Austin, Wells Branch, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Cedar Park, and other communities north of the Capitol City.

Everyone is invited to a Ribbon-Cutting and Grand Opening
hosted by the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and
DELICIOUS TAMALES at 12 PM, Thursday, March 2, 2023.

“Since we opened our first Austin location a little over a year ago at 1931 E. Oltorf, the response has been over-whelming, and customers have been asking us to open another location to the North,” said owner and President of DELICIOUS TAMALES, Valerie Gonzalez.  She added, ”After months of searching and several more months of construction, we are excited to begin providing families and businesses to the North with a more convenient location to buy fresh, authentic tamales all year round.”

About DELICIOUS TAMALES
Delicious Tamales’ owners, Valerie Gonzalez and Herlinda-Lopez-Wood are a mother-daughter duo who began providing tamales for friends and family primarily at Christmas time and have since grown it into a thriving business that offers 13 flavors year-round from its six locations in San Antonio and now two in Austin. The company employs approximately 40 people, many of whom have worked with them for more than 30 years.
Closely monitored operations take place daily in a 30,000 square foot kitchen at 1330 Culebra Rd. in San Antonio. Here fresh ingredients, with no preservatives, are used in the labor-intensive process that starts with corn that is stone-ground and cooked daily to make 1,800 pounds of masa. Authentic corn husks are used to “hand-wrap” the various fillings including the traditional pork and chicken as well as vegetarian tamales. All flavors are gluten-free except for the sweet ones which are made with cake flour. Fresh tamales are cooked daily at each location and can be purchased hot and ready to eat or frozen to heat and serve later. DELICIOUS TAMALES also provides nationwide shipping and delivery is available through UberEats, Door Dash, and GrubHub.
