Tequila Don Rico is a new premium tequila brand that uses a traditional, additive-free method of farming, production and distillation from blue weber agave grown in both the valley and highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Don Rico Tequila tends to yield spicy, earthy and herbaceous flavors and aromas due to the dark, volcanic soil of the valley. However, the flavors also include the sweeter and citrus notes found in the red clay soil of the highlands. These aromas and flavors, along with cooked agave and pepper are prevalent in the Blanco. Cooked agave, oak, caramel, vanilla, citrus and pepper are characteristic of the Reposado, which is rested in whisky oak barrels for six months. The Añejo is rested in bourbon barrels for six months and then transferred to French oak barrels previously containing a blend of red wine for an additional six months. The flavors and aromas prevalent in the Añejo exhibits a profile full of agave, oak, caramel, vanilla, fresh fruit and citrus.
