Job Description:
The successful candidate should have experience in radio and television advertising sales and/or
management. Responsible for all activities centered around Local, National, NTR, Social Media, and
integrated sales department including supervision and direction of sales managers and local account
executives. Travel will be necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Establishes credibility throughout the organization and with the leadership team as an effective
developer of solutions to business challenges.
• The VP, DOS must be a motivated, creative, strategic, solution-oriented leader who can upgrade
and manage the entire sales operation. The person will lead the overall vision for sales success
across all assets and brands, in the fully integrated, rapidly evolving, highly competitive
broadcast industry.
• Provides leadership and management to ensure business plan of the company are put into
practice.
• Spearheads the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth
strategies and processes.
• Drives the Business Unit to achieve and surpass profitability, cash flow, and business goals and
objectives.
• Motivates and leads a high-performance management team; attracts, recruits, and retains
required members of the management team; provides mentoring to the Business Unit; Leads,
guides, direct, and evaluate all departments and department leaders.
• With input from GM, BM and Sales Managers, determine and establish annual revenue
budgets for stations.
• Deliver revenue expectations for each budget set by the Local Media Leadership Team.
• Assure superior service to all station clients to increase repeat business.
• Manage and direct Local Sales Managers and other personnel as required by the
President/General Manager.
• Direct and improve regular sales meetings to assure excellent inter-department
communication and success.
• Maintain superior relationship between sales department and all other station
departments to ensure good relations and cooperation.
• Oversee all performance reviews for sales department and conduct those of direct
reports in Sales Department.
• Direct research effort of the radio stations giving Research Director and the department,
specific meaningful input on how to improve their sales impact.
• Communicate clearly and regularly with national rep firm to maximize relationship with
and performance by the National Sales Department.
• Represent company and stations to create and maintain a superior relationship with the
advertising and public service community.
• Attend Department Head Meetings.
• Follow and enforce company’s Mission Statement policies.
• Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
• Create new strategies for marketing and monitors the ROI of those activities.
• Build effective relationship with the clients so as to maintain good revenue increase for the
organization.
• Analyze and explore market trends; identifying new opportunities in assigned region.

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration
• 5+ years of TV and or Radio sales experience
• 3+ years of TV and or Radio Sales Management experience. Radio, Digital or Agency experience,
with a high amount of broadcast experience may also be considered.
• TV and or Radio experience in a major market and/or major affiliate station.
• A winning track record of sales management success at the local market , regional, and national
level.
• Ability to call on mom & pop’s to C-Suite clients.
• Excellent written and verbal skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
• Requires working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook software packages.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
Educational Requirements:
College degree preferred. Related sales experience required.
