The Retail Mobile Shop Specialist is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the GSCTX Mobile Shop events in addition to overseeing the Kyle Service Center retail shop. Ensures Retail is consistently providing the highest level of Customer Service to Council membership and staff in all Mobile Shop Calendar events and while working in the Retail Shop. Ensures Store Operations, Visual Merchandising, and Sales Management are consistent and to the expectations and best practices set by the Director of Retail Operations (DRO). Schedule will include Kyle Retail Shop, Mobile Shop events, Summer Trading Post and Austin Retail Shop coverage as assigned.
Exemplifies and provides a high quality of customer service through consistently engaging customers in conversation, problem solving and using product knowledge to educate the customer.
Develops a high level of product knowledge of all Girl Scout products including badges, insignia, pins, and patches for proper uniform placement, as well as Council merchandise.
Organizes, develops, and maintains suitable merchandise for respective events as determined by the DRO.
Develops and maintains a calendar for the Kyle Shop, Trading Post, and all Retail Mobile Shop events, which will require communication and interaction with other Council departments and volunteers to maximize time and meet the needs of the Council membership.
Ensures Retail activities in the shops and during mobile events follow processes and procedures to the standards set by the DRO, including protocols for point of sale software, credit card machine, gift certificates, Girl Scout Dough, refunds and exchanges, and general journal entries.
Ensures correspondence relating to the Retail Mobile Shop and special orders are handled in a timely manner.
Coordinates the assembly and distribution of summer camp kits at Camps Texlake and Kachina and maintains weekly reporting of kits sales and merchandise reconciliations.
Assists DRO in reviewing and analyzing sales data to increase sales, meet budgeted goals, and forecast purchasing requirements.
Maintain records of damaged merchandise and inventory item counts on a regular basis and assists with annual shop inventories.
Communicates and coordinates inventory needs in a timely manner.
Ensures that all sales and inventory balances from check-out to check-in with assigned staff.
Participates in maintaining a clean and organized sales floor and stockroom.
Ensures each Retail Mobile Shop event is highly organized and visually merchandised.
Adhere to the policies of Girl Scouts of Central Texas and promote girl scouting in a positive manner to the public as well as to all internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma with some college preferred.
Minimum two years retail experience.
Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends.
Proficient data entry skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to execute projects on time and on budget.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills while achieving results in partnership with others.
Working knowledge of point of sale software and credit card transaction procedures.
Yearly membership in GSUSA is required.
Support the development of Council fund raising by assisting to identify organizations, businesses and individuals who are potential donors or grant sources.
Ability to drive distances of more than 200 miles.
Maintain a current Texas driver’s license.
Frequent, standing, walking, bending and twisting upper body.
Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
Capable of viewing computer monitor for long periods of time.
Capable of driving for long periods of time.
Continuous indoor activity and exposure to florescent light.
Frequent exposure to computer, video, and other copier emissions.
