Programs Lead, Health Coaching, Youth & Families

It's Time Texas
Job Description
Job Opportunity: Programs Lead, Health Coaching, Youth & Families
Job Type: Full-time Exempt
It’s Time Texas is growing, and we need smart, passionate, purpose-driven people to join our team. Here’s our truth: we’re ambitious, we’re different, we’re going all in on building a culture of health in Texas. To do this, we are organizing a social movement around the core value that Texas is best when Texans are healthy. By working with partners and supporters throughout the state, we are changing behaviors, practices, and policies to make healthy living central to what it means to be a Texan. Sound good so far?
Our work is critically important, but it’s not easy. We work hard and we help each other. We offer a stimulating work environment where talented people who are committed to transforming health in Texas thrive. As part of our team, you will have many opportunities to learn and grow your skill set, while making a real contribution to a rapidly growing organization and awesome team.
Who We Need:
As we move from start-up to grown-up, we need a strong leader to guide and support our efforts to scale and expand two distinct, yet related, program areas: our telehealth coach program and our programs and resources that support educators, students, and families. We are looking for a dynamic strategic thinker, someone who is great at spotting patterns and connections. This person sees possibilities and has a natural tendency to ask “what if…” and listen carefully to the answers. The teams who report to this position know their stuff—they’re doing amazing work and are thoughtful and passionate about the people their work supports. The ideal candidate has vision and brings out the best in others. This person is resourceful, decisive and has the ability to foster a culture of teamwork while being performance-oriented and pushing us to maximize our reach and impact. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong experience in public or community health programming who enjoys leading teams in accomplishing ambitious goals. As the team leader, this person has a critical role in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing staff.
Who You Are:
  • Mission focused. You’re committed to supporting the mission of It’s Time Texas, and don’t shy away from challenges.
  • An analytical and strategic thinker. You know how to set the direction, devise goals and objectives, and identify a range of strategies to pursue so that your team will achieve its goals.
  • A relator and motivator. As a leader, you create space for relationships to form and cultivate a team environment of honest, trusting, productive connections. You motivate others by understanding and addressing their needs and concerns.
  • A warm and trusted leader. People look to you for guidance and motivation, trusting that you bring good ideas and emotional intelligence to any situation.
  • Detail oriented and organized. You execute tasks with a high degree of clarity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • An excellent communicator. You communicate complex information clearly and directly.
  • Adept at change management. In times of change, you’re a team player. You’re flexible, yet purposeful. You create effective change strategies and provide support and coaching to maximize adoption and minimize disruption.
  • Results driven. You have a strong bottom-line orientation. You are great at setting performance goals, evaluating employees, and providing feedback to ensure that each person is making progress on goals.
What You’ll Bring:
  • 4+ years of related public health work experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong cultural competence and deep understanding of the social, cultural, and linguistic needs of our target audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding prioritization and project management skills
  • Experience and knowledge of telehealth, health coaching, and/or youth and family programming is a plus
