Investigative Photographer
Position Summary
Univision’s DFW Local Media News Department is seeking a motivated, experienced, organized and project-focused individual to join the #1 news team in North Texas. The ideal candidate built their career telling compelling and creative stories through excellent use of video and sound. This hard news journalist will have a proven track record of working closely with special projects teams to develop content becomes a driver for positive change. In this role, the investigative photographer will be responsible for:
A. Conceiving, shooting, producing and editing investigative stories
B. Identifying opportunities to showcase video and sound across all platforms
C. Maintaining active social media presence – ensuring our special projects content is effectively leveraged
D. Working closely with Investigative & Consumer Investigative Reporters to maintain active special projects calendar, meeting deadlines and juggling multiple stories simultaneously

The Investigative Photographer will work closely with multiple members of the News Department and marketing staff to effectively produce and promote unique content. They will work with Investigative Reporter and Assignment Manager to manage and maintain the special project's calendar, including details of ongoing shoots and production.

This role requires an analytical, problem-solving skill set. The Investigative Photographer will possess solid news judgment, curiosity and an understanding of mass communications law and ethical standards, as they apply to story gathering and production.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work with an investigative reporter to cultivate and nurture contacts and sources to enterprise story ideas
• Identify and pitch original investigative stories
• Knowledge of the legal hurdles pertaining to investigations and how to avoid them
• A love of and passion for what you do as an investigator
• Other photography and editing duties as assigned

Required Basic Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in Broadcast News, Film, and/or equivalent experience in related content area • Minimum 3 years of experience working as an investigative/special projects photographer

• Proficient in edit systems including AVID & Adobe
• Fluent in both English and Spanish
• High regard for detail
• Proven experience working with hidden cameras
• Ability to prioritize, self-start and meet tight deadlines
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Qualifications
• Knowledge of and familiarity with newsroom systems and software (i.e. iNews)
• Track record of incorporating, sourcing and sharing social media to tell stories and share with
larger audience
• Experience shooting and editing video in formats that are compatible across digital platforms

Eligibility Requirements
• Must be willing to work at the UCI office in Dallas, Tx
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must be willing to travel on an as-needed basis
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
