Job Description
Overview
Texas CASA, a statewide non-profit membership organization, is seeking to contract with an experienced individual consultant to assist in the creation of male recruitment teams within the local CASA programs and to provide coaching and consultation to the local CASA programs on recruitment and retention strategies to recruit men to become volunteer advocates for children in foster care, utilizing the male recruitment (Men of CASA) toolbox developed by Texas CASA.
This contract opportunity will require travel throughout Texas at a rate of approximately 35% of the total contract time. The majority of the work will be done from your preferred working space and through video conferencing. More travel may be necessary depending on the needs of the programs. Hours needed to dedicate to this contract are flexible and will depend on the needs of the program, and will include some evenings and weekends.

Scope of Work
The consultant will work alongside local CASA programs to implement the recruitment strategies outlined in the Men of CASA toolbox, assist in the creation of male recruitment teams within the local CASA programs and provide additional strategies to recruit and retain male volunteers.

Deliverables
The consultant provides customized solutions and services to the local CASA programs. Services rendered include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work with at least 10 local CASA programs to form a male recruitment team within their program, utilizing tools from the Men of CASA toolbox
- Collaborate with the Men of CASA recruitment teams from local CASA programs on how to effectively utilize the Men of CASA toolbox and program
- Provide tailored coaching sessions on male recruitment to new recruiters at new recruiter orientation events
- Ensure friendly and responsive oral and written communications to local CASA programs, Texas CASA staff and external stakeholders

Contract Summary

The consultant will work collaboratively with the Texas CASA recruitment & retention officer, local CASA program staff, Men of CASA committee members and Texas CASA volunteer recruitment & retention coaches. The consultant will provide hands on coaching and support to local CASA programs to implement the recruitment strategies outlined in the Men of CASA toolbox, assist in the creation of male recruitment teams within the local CASA programs and provide additional strategies to recruit and retain male volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Human Services/Communications/Marketing or a closely related field
- Volunteer management experience
- Proven record of increased recruitment and retention of volunteers

Additionally, must:
- Be able to provide positive client engagement
- Be able to facilitate groups of people into action
- Be able to motivate, inspire and elicit changes in behavior
- Possess strong coaching skills
- Possess leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and video conferencing software
- Have the willingness and ability to travel

Contract Details
This contract will begin May 21, 2018, and will continue through Aug. 31, 2018. This contract may be renewed September 1, 2018, to August 31, 2019, depending on funding and performance.
Completion of contract deliverables and duties within the contract scope are required for contract payment. Texas CASA will check periodically on service satisfactions with local CASA programs and will provide an end of fiscal year survey.

- A written explanation of your understanding of and experience with volunteer management and recruitment and retention strategies, specifically for male volunteers
- A written explanation of the role of Texas CASA and the role of a CASA volunteer
- A summary of your recent and relevant projects, resumes accepted
- A visual sample of your work (e.g., PowerPoint presentation, flow chart, infographic, etc.)
- A firm estimate of the fees to be charged including travel and lodging
- Names, phone numbers and email addresses of three individuals whom Texas CASA can contact as references
