City vehicle requirement & AOA requirement: This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and individual will be required to drive a City vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA. Successful candidate must be in possession of a Texas driver’s license as authorized by the Texas Transportation Code. A driving record verification will be conducted. Applicants for positions for which City driving is an essential function must meet the standards of the program: age 18 or older, current applicable driver’s license, proof of insurability, and no more than six (6) points assessed on Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) based on

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Continuous carrying or lifting 1 -50 lbs. tool bags, tools, equipment to job site. Frequent carrying/lifting from 51-70 lbs. including equipment & parts. Occasional carrying / lifting heavy parts, motors, reducers , etc. from 70 – 100 lbs including lifting luggage for TSA/assistance. Continuous pulling or pushing from 1 -50 lbs. Loading, moving, unloading, parts, etc. Frequent pulling or pushing 51-70 lbs. equipment & parts. Occasional pulling or pushing items from 71 – 100 lbs. with assistance. Continuous manual/ physical dexterity while working in extreme weather conditions. Continuous finger dexterity needed to hold tools & equipment components. Continuous climbing & crawling on hands and knees to access equipment. Frequent and prolonged standing while working on equipment. Frequent reading overhead, over shoulders, and turning body side to side (manual dexterity). Continuous squatting and kneeling. Frequent bending and stooping. Able to communicate in a high noise area. Must have good color vision in order to view documents, blue prints, etc. Utilize eyes for long periods of time while working on detail and or reading plans, materials instructions, schematics, etc. Must possess the physical and mental capacity to safely operate a
motor vehicle during day or night time.

Pay Range

$23.65 – $30.12

Preferred Qualifications  
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

  1. Coordinates Airline Maintenance program and ensure airport facilities, employees, contractors, etc. are in compliance with all governmental regulations.
  2. Serves as liaison between Airline Maintenance Division and others in regards to maintenance issues; communicate airline maintenance sections' project and program information to management.
  3. Collaborates with engineering and architectural managerial staff in the planning, development, and modification of City of Austin's Aviation Department owned facilities and or other CIP projects.
  4. Represents the Department of Aviation, the Airline Maintenance Division, and the City of Austin in meetings with airport tenants.
  5. Performs facility inspections to evaluate and assess necessary routine and preventative maintenance.
  6. Ensures compliance with TSA-1542 federal inspections, safety, standard operating procedures, and all applicable city, state, and federal requirements with regards to the operations of all airport facilities.
  7. Attends meetings with airport tenant management and airport personnel management to assess maintenance needs in regards to airline maintenance issues.
  8. Assists in the development of short/long range plans as well as perform the monitoring of the progress in achieving established short/long range plans.
  9. Monitors budget and ensure airline maintenance parts are within established budgetary goals.
  10. Monitors maintenance management program (TMA) for work performed and materials used by equipment technicians; identify needs for personnel support through analysis and discussion of current assessments.
  11. Performs contract/procurement duties. Recommend major purchases and expenditures; develop specifications for product price and services; monitor contracts and contractors to ensure compliance; assist with developing, requisitioning, receiving, storing, and issuing inventory of replacement parts; and assist management in the process of purchasing and retiring surplus capital equipment.
