At this free and open to the public speaking event, Eric Booth will discuss how creative engagement can – and should – be present in all learning situations, both in and outside of schools. Drawing from his book, Playing for the Lives: The Global El Sistema Movement for Social Change Through Music Eric's talk will be relevant to educators, artists, parents and anyone interested in the possibility and impact of creative learning. This event features a special performance by Austin Soundwaves. Sign interpretation will be available. Following the event, Eric will lead a professional development workshop for teachers teaching artists on how to nurture your skills with creative engagement, such as flexible thinking, empathy, brainstorming, inquiry and multi-sensory learning.
